Cloud

PaaS (Platform as a Service)

Is a cloud computing model that provides a complete platform for developers to build, deploy, and manage applications without worrying about the underlying infrastructure. It offers tools, development environments, databases, and middleware services, enabling faster and more efficient development. Common examples include Google App Engine and Microsoft Azure App Services.

SaaS BPM (Software as a Service Business Process Management)

Is a cloud-based approach to efficiently manage and optimize business processes. It combines the SaaS model with BPM tools, enabling organizations to design, automate, monitor, and improve workflows without local infrastructure. This solution is accessible from anywhere with internet access, reduces operational costs, and enhances real-time collaboration. Examples include Kissflow, ProcessMaker, and Pipefy.

Disaster Recovery (DRaaS, Disaster Recovery as a Service)

Is a cloud-based service that enables companies to protect their systems, data, and applications from disruptions caused by natural disasters, technical failures, or cyberattacks. DRaaS creates real-time backups and allows for the quick restoration of critical systems, ensuring business continuity with minimal recovery time (RTO) and data loss (RPO). This approach eliminates the need for local recovery infrastructure, optimizing costs and increasing operational resilience.

Colocation

Is the rental of a data center to operate your own servers and network equipment. These data centers offer advanced infrastructure, such as redundant power, cooling systems, high-speed bandwidth, and physical security. Colocation allows organizations to retain full control over their hardware while leveraging the reliability and shared costs of a professionally managed environment. It is a popular option for businesses requiring scalability, high availability, and low latency without building their own data center.

Veeam Licensing

Veeam is a data protection platform offering backup, recovery, and replication solutions. Its licensing is generally based on the number of virtual machines (VMs), server instances, or storage being protected. Veeam offers subscription-based or perpetual licenses, and its products are designed to protect on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Red Hat Licensing

Red Hat is a company offering open-source solutions, primarily through its Linux distribution, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Its licensing is subscription-based, which includes technical support, software updates, access to additional tools, and security patches. Subscriptions may be per server, number of cores, or cloud instances, and vary depending on support levels and additional services.

Microsoft Licensing

Microsoft offers a wide range of products with varying license models depending on the product (Windows, Office, servers, etc.). Licensing can be by subscription (e.g., Microsoft 365), volume (e.g., Windows Server or SQL Server), or per device/user (e.g., Office licenses). Microsoft also provides specific licenses for virtualized and cloud environments, such as Azure.

Nutanix Licensing

Nutanix provides hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, combining storage, computing, and networking into a single system. Nutanix licensing is subscription-based, with options varying by solution type (e.g., private, public, or hybrid cloud). Licenses are typically based on the number of nodes, storage capacity, or specific resource usage within its platforms, such as its AHV virtualization software.

Pure Storage Hardware

Pure Storage specializes in high-performance data storage solutions, particularly with flash storage. Its hardware includes solid-state storage devices (SSDs) that offer high speed, reliability, and efficiency compared to traditional hard drives. Their product line includes all-flash storage systems like FlashArray, designed to support critical enterprise workloads, and FlashBlade, geared toward applications requiring high-performance file and object storage. These devices are optimized to reduce total cost of ownership and improve operational efficiency.

HP (Hewlett Packard) Hardware

Hewlett Packard (HP) offers a wide range of enterprise hardware solutions, including servers, storage, and networking systems. Its HPE ProLiant server line is widely used in enterprise environments, offering scalable and efficient servers for various applications. In storage, HP provides solutions such as HPE 3PAR, an enterprise storage platform that optimizes performance and availability. HP also offers hardware for hybrid cloud environments and data centers, as well as networking products under the Aruba Networks brand.
